Hi. Does anyone knows if there is any problem about the net cards that are compatibles with NE2000 (clones) and are PCI? Thanks.
I have one, a Realtek 8029, 10megabyte speed. It is pnp, and it works really well. The pnp_bios function finds it automatically. However, if you are using the standard kernel and have kerneld load it, you must identify it by editing the /etc/modules.conf file to alias eth0 ne then uncomment the option for ne and enter the right io and irq found by the pci_bios. You can read the settings after booting, and logging in, with <shift> + <PageUp> Or use your hard settings, if you have a non-pnp card. You can recompile the kernel to include it, choose "other isa cards" in menuconfig, and include ne2000. Then the /etc/module.conf dosn't matter. zentara -- To get out of this list, please send email to majordomo@suse.com with this text in its body: unsubscribe suse-linux-e
