The last version is a little bit strange, yes.. But ctrl+f still works as needed. And it is always possible to put all packages in alfabetical order and scroll to right place.

why not? and why not to try? search 'abiword' returns here (searching only substring of names) abiword abiword2 abiword-clipart abiword-plugins-impexp abiword-plugins-tools
If search is made in package names and descriptions, it returns the list above + enchant.
