I guess you should never say never, but in a business perspective, I find it difficult to see much difference between a Linux virtual instance and a real instance on a PC. You can run scripts that do things on the local machine, using bash and other tools we are used to in Linux, and with less resources than a full virtual machine. Ah, I misread James' original post, I was thinking of a virtual machine, not just a set of libraries.
I haven't tried it yet, but apparently you can chain commands between Windows and Linux, as described in this article. https://www.techrepublic.com/article/windows-10-new-feature-sees-microsoft-blur-the-line-between-windows-and-linux/?bhid=12825460&ftag=TRE684d531 Also, it's not a full install, but a subsystem. Back in the NT days there were POSIX and OS/2 subsystems. This is an extension of that. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
