If you go to the Nvidia web site and search for dual head there are 2 documents, one for working in Cinerama mode where you have one large desktop, in this mode 3D acceleration is not possible.
I haven't read the nVidia docs, but I know you can have 3D acceleration with TwinView.
nVidia does it all their own way with what they call TwinView. To set up TwinView with your card:
- log out of KDE/GNOME, i.e. to the login - switch to a text mode console, e.g. ALT-F1 - log in as root - issue 'init 3' to shut down X11 - call sax2 -m 0=nvidia -b /usr/X11R6/lib/sax/profile/NVidia_Twinview
Excellent little piece of advice ...... (the same for Leif's little input for those that needs that) Now a follow up. As said ..... it helps getting closer to exploit the full benefits of having a dualhead setup for sure. Currently I have 2 times (1024x768) but wouldn't it be neat to get the full deal on the vertical too !! ;-) I have an Asus V9520VS (FX5200) and it's able to do 2048 x 1536 So here's my question .... Would it be possible to use Brad's advice/tip and say put my "numbers" in so that I get 2 times (1024x1200) that would take full advantage of the abilities that the graphicscard actually provide and the limits of the monitors (2 times 1600x1200);-) Is this just a a deathwhish or an excellent idea !? :D TIA Johan PS: I have 2 identical 19" Medion Monitors that can spin 1600x1200
AFAIK, this requires identical monitors/displays attached to the card.
