[SLE] Disk error! How to recover data?

On boot up this morning I got: "Error 200: Fixed disk 1" The error appears to be on the root partition of my linux disk. I have two disks one XP and the other Suse. I booted from the "recover system" selection on the distribution CD of 10.1. It booted, but I was not able to mount anything from hdb, my linux disk. Does anyone have any ideas how I can recover my home folder? Mike
