I have installed SuSE 5.2 (1CD demo version given at Spring Comdex) on my laptop. I have a Infotel ne2k PCMCIA card (OEM'd by D-LINK model 650ct). Under Win95 the irq/io is 11,0x300 and under Linux it is 3,0x300. In Win 95, I manually set (using the Device Manager) to 11 so that I could use irq 3 for the COM port . However, in Linux the irq is 3 and io is 0x300 and things work fine. I can ping, ftp, telnet other nodes. When I use the option irq=11 io=0x300 in /etc/conf.modules the card is not detected. I suspect irq, io port negotiation is done during card services init. Is there a way to set irq,io manually during card services init?
