Hello, I buy a second ssd, to put it in a caddy using the unuseful dvd port of my ASUS laptop. Works, but I noticed that hdparm -t gives /dev/sda: Timing buffered disk reads: 812 MB in 3.00 seconds = 270.55 MB/sec linux-owxt:/home/jdd # hdparm -t /dev/sdb /dev/sdb: Timing buffered disk reads: 1590 MB in 3.00 seconds = 529.88 MB/sec [ 3.153819] ata3: SATA link up 3.0 Gbps (SStatus 123 SControl 300) [ 3.154594] ata5: SATA link up 6.0 Gbps (SStatus 133 SControl 300) so looks like the caddy is half the speed of the usual sata port any idea why and is it somewhere configurable? the two ssd are said to be fully 6 Gbps capable thanks jdd -- http://dodin.org -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
