thanks for correcting me on this. What I meant by conflicted was that when I took the line out of the ifcfg-eth0 file, the internet started to work. Since it didn't work before the change, I assumed there was a conflict. Now I know that I was wrong, and I will work on trying to figure out why. But at least I got lucky and got the problem fixed.
I think you should have: DHCLIENT_SET_DEFAULT_ROUTE=yes DHCLIENT_SET_HOSTNAME=no The second setting saying yes has no consequence besides the machine name not being what you expect. I have not seen it working correctly with a home (aka cheap) router. However, the first setting being "no" typically makes your internet to fail. -- Cheers / Saludos, Carlos E. R.
