I'm trying to install SuSE on a new computer that has 2 ide hard drives and 1 Promise Ultra66 drive. The thing that I am trying to accomplish is having the ultra66 drive be /dev/hda. Currently it is /dev/hde. With the ide cables, I can physicallyange the order the block devices are assigned. Is there a way to set the kernel to change the device order on boot-up? <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.0 Transitional//EN"> <HEAD> <META http-equiv=Content-Type content="text/html; charset=iso-8859-1"> <META content="MSHTML 5.50.4134.600" name=GENERATOR> <STYLE></STYLE> </HEAD> <BODY bgColor=#ffffff> <DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>I'm trying to install SuSE on a new computer that has 2 ide hard drives and 1 Promise Ultra66 drive.</FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2></FONT> </DIV> <DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>The thing that I am trying to accomplish is having the ultra66 drive be /dev/hda.
