Not being able to login surely is not the fault of using XFS. You did something wrong. You could have asked here about the issue giving full details.
the kind of thing that one doesn't need, especailly for an install with three partitions /swap / and /home (and now also /boot and /boot/EFI and /bios and this is really getting to be a PIA)
