As a newbie I thought about that two when downloading Mozilla 2.1 Here is how i as a newbie did it. After letting Kong do his download thing I closed down and went to the location where the file was downloaded (Most of the time it will tell you were it will be download to.) Then I just right clicked on the file and click on move it to. Then looked for the directory that I wanted it in. Before you do all of the above think of what directory you want it in. If there is no directory you do not want it in make one with right click and new.
Thanks Robinson. I appreciate the help. Actually I knew I could go to the temp directory to get the file but this is just horrible UI behavior IMO for such a well developed browser. Konqueror is a very nice browser but it seems to be lacking in it's ability to be customized. With Opera you can can customize so much yet in Konq the options seem so limited. At the very least you should be able to suggest to "always be prompted" for where you want to download a file. Using Linux shouldn't be a less productive endeavor than using Windows but having files automatically download to a directory and then having to go to that directory and manually move them somewhere else is a lot of wasted steps in my opinion. (Granted for a lot of links just right clicking on the link works but this also will not work for a lot of image type and javascript links ). -- Rick
