OpenSuse Tumbleweed.
I have tried every combination of Pulse Audio I can think of, and the sound is gone, even tho in some cases I can see the VU bar hopping along with the input audio. And the bar underneath it is reading silence. Well that's what I'm getting! Using YouTube as a source. This worked yesterday! someone please tell me the secret of Pulse Audio. I seem to remember some time ago (in a different Linux system) there were several large windows opening to PA, but I don't see a way to get to them anymore. Just two--one on the right, one on the left, not many choices altogether.
There must be some PA Maven out there--HELP!

I found the magic combo. Close this. Thanx for watching!
Doug, you present a problem and request help. And you received several responses.
Plese have the courtesy to explain how you achieved and what your solution was. Someone else may come upon the same problem
I appreciate your comment, but I really can't say what I did. I kept playing with combinations of possible choices for speakers, sources, sound, etc., while I had selected something from YouTube that would go on for a while, and suddenly I got a rash of (too loud) sound from the speakers. I would ask here how to lower the overall level, but I'm afraid to mess with it again! PulseAudio is one nasty bitch! I can turn it down with the available controls, even tho they are now at about 20% of full scale. --doug
following your recent conversations, this admission makes a lot of sense. -- (paka)Patrick Shanahan Plainfield, Indiana, USA @ptilopteri http://en.opensuse.org openSUSE Community Member facebook/ptilopteri Photos: http://wahoo.no-ip.org/piwigo paka @ IRCnet freenode -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
