I have tried the installation with and without the IRQ for USB being disabled. Until tonite the pnp BIOS has been set to "no". . With the IRQ disabled I lose the kb and mouse when I try to make a correction to the test screen following the Desktop settings. With IRQ enabled I can make the correction and get all the way to the login and the welcome. I can open an application but after a couple of clicks or typing I get the freeze. Tonite after your question I tried an installation with the IRQ disabled and set the the pnp to yes. I was able to do the correction to the test screen (first time without the IRQ) and open an application. Then after I did a couple of clicks...no kb no mouse. Thanks for your question. If you have any more pls fire away Jack On Wed, 31 Jan 2001, you wrote:
Stupid question about the USB port...did you enable assign IRQ for USB in the BIOS? And did you set pnp BIOS to no?
If you have done both...*shrug*.
