[opensuse] Should an md5sum of an ISO and against the dvd match ?

I've downloaded the 12.2 iso and the md5sum. Knowing that the old DVD burner shot craps, I bought a new one. I burned the ISO file and, using k3b, burned the ISO file. Running md5sum command against the newly burned DVD, do not match the ISO md5sum. Should they match ? How do I get k3b to run the md5sum against the newly burned DVD ?
