Hi, Cardinfo requires XForms, if it's not installed I think it is in series xdev (I don't have my CD's handy). You can check to see if the (right) module is loading by doing # lsmod If it is, check the interface # ifconfig does eth0 show up with the right parameters? If not, it's time to look at /etc/pcmcia/network.opts and double check it against the PCMCIA-HOWTO (I had to do this a couple of times before it was clear). Let us know if you need help with something that is adrift:-) Tim

Hi and thanks in advance.
I am v new to linux (and networks). Installed 6.2 OK on Dell Laptop (no sound yet but not important). PCMIA modem all fine. Am now trying to link to net at work via 3Com card (which according to the list may be useable - 3CCFE575CT). However I have problems. Tried an integrate hardware in YAST, network device, type eth0, device type PCMCIA, etc etc, then when I come to reboot I get a no such device as eth0 message as part of the scrolling boot script. I ran probe and both sockets were reported. I tried to run cardinfo but received an error message about failure of shared libraries. If i insert the card after boot up then I hear a heart warming beep so I assume the socket is live. The rest of the office runs windows and are getting sceptical. HELP please.
