Could be the file in question was encoded with the new G2 version of Real Audio, or just with some codec that you don't happen to have. The version 5 Player for Linux is also not as good as the Windose version.... When I tried to get help on the Real Forum, the moderator declined to post my message - the best he could offer was to say that the files I was unable to play, he COULD play - I was greatly impressed....! By a lot of trial and error I found I could get the player to work most of the time if I set it to 8 bit audio instead of 16 bit, and for TCP transport only. The G2 Real Player for Linux is due for release in the next week or two, I believe. I think Linux has gained a lot more credibility since ver 5 for Linux was released - so hopefully the g2 player will be a better product! If not - I may consider switching our station to MP3 quite shortly...... I've installed RealAudio 5.0 and followed all of the installation instructions, but when I try to receive a RealAudio broadcast I receive an error #38, which states:
"File compression not supported. Cannot find the RealAudio decoder"
Is there a fix for this?
