Hi Folks,
I'm considering Tumbleweed for a customer, but they want to "register" the version number. What version numbering scheme does TW use? What would "/etc/os-release" show? Would it be a static number, or would it change as it "tumbles"?
Don't know where you would register it and what you would register. But the release number changes with each snapshot release, currently: cat /etc/os-release NAME=openSUSE VERSION="Tumbleweed" VERSION_ID="20160307" PRETTY_NAME="openSUSE Tumbleweed (20160307) (x86_64)" ID=opensuse ANSI_COLOR="0;32" CPE_NAME="cpe:/o:opensuse:opensuse:20160307" BUG_REPORT_URL="https://bugs.opensuse.org" HOME_URL="https://www.opensuse.org/" ID_LIKE="suse" version would be 20160307 which will change shortly. -- (paka)Patrick Shanahan Plainfield, Indiana, USA @ptilopteri http://en.opensuse.org openSUSE Community Member facebook/ptilopteri http://wahoo.no-ip.org Photo Album: http://wahoo.no-ip.org/gallery2 Registered Linux User #207535 @ http://linuxcounter.net -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
