Dear List,
I changed a hard disk containing suse 11.2 into a new environment.
Now the network configuration is giving some hard problems..
The new network card (marvell) was persistently labelled as "eth2", while the old (now non-existent card, gigabit) as "eth0" and nothing worked.
I was able to change the marvell tech. card to eth0 following this thread:
http://www.linuxforums.org/forum/suse-linux/92280-how-change-ethx-ethy.html
(I simply edited the file and set the marvell card as eth0)
You probably do not want to do this, rather remove /etc/udev/rules.d/70-persistent-net.rules Then restart your machine, and configure your card with YaST. This should work, new udev rule will be written somewhere along the way.
