The workaround is here;
FYI, Stefan Dirsch accepted my SRs with this patch applied to nvidia-gfxG04 (adjusted) and nvidia-gfxG05:
https://build.opensuse.org/package/show/X11:Drivers:Video/nvidia-gfxG04 https://build.opensuse.org/package/show/X11:Drivers:Video/nvidia-gfxG05
IOW, the next "official" G04 and G05 builds from https://download.nvidia.com/ opensuse/ should work properly with kernel 5.5.0. G03 is building fine as well (without any patch, btw, most probably because it doesn't support DRM at all...).
Cheers, Pete
Thank you for your response. Just for everyone's information there is anew Nvidia driver available 440.59 (have downloaded it but yet to install it with the 5.5.x kernel).
