Improved laptop support from 10.0 to 10.1?

Hello, Is there experience if the support for an IBM Thinkpad T41 laptop improved from 10.0 to 10.1? Where did it improve? How about the upcoming 10.2? I have to say that I will probably install an own kernel myself anyhow, as many reports tell that suspend2 works better on the T41 than the in-kernel stuff. My other systems are still on 10.0, and it would ease patching and upgrading if I can just use the established processes with the laptop; therefore I'm checking if there is really an advantage in upgrading to 10.1 in that situation.
