Rick; Go back to your Redhat manual; at least it explains what it is your trying to accomplish; unlike suse. The guys @ SuSE tried to help promote a bunch of German ISP's, so they came up with scripts and that damned SuSEppp. Talk about making a simple thing complicated! You still only need slip and ppp support in the kernel, diald, pppd, chat and connect. The guys at SUSE took so much grief about Suseppp and all of that nonsense that they have bailed out to WvDial as a means of establishing a ppp connection. It still works the same, you just have to wade through SUSE's B.S. Joe Rick Knebel wrote:
Hi,
I am giving suse 5.3 a try. I have used redhat, caldera, and debian and I have never had as much of a hard time setting up ppp as i am having with suse.
I am trying to use kppp and everytime i connect it will not get past my ISP saying "no carrier".
I have not done anything different than in the other distro's I have set up.
I cannot get suse's pppconfig to work either.
Any Idea's.
