Don't know about that YaST's missing tool, but you can configure both Amanda and Bacula to backp whatever part of the system is important for you and have bare-metal restore feature. Personally, now I use Amanda (with LTO-2 tapes) since it stores data in standard tar archives which can be easily restored without any extra tool.
