A few days is not that "looong"! I remember at least 20180206 was a wipe-out and people have been complaining ever since until the last couple of days.
I hope something like this never happens to TW again.....

I never was able to get my first machine to update from 20171228 to 201802xx (tried a few versions). So I reinstalled using 20180214 and it's back on track.
Fearfully, I updated my development machine today from 20180205 to 20180215 and it went quite smoothly while I held my breath! I even still have a functional desktop after the update. So at least I'm current.
Next is my laptop though it is using the Nvidia driver so should go smoothly.
This just to confirm that it is apparently "safe" once again to do updates if you're lurking -- at least if you're not still at the end of December like my first machine.
and has been "safe" for quite a looong time. presently doing daily updates. if you are having problems, you are using suspect repos or not using dup and norecommends and who know what else.

it was a simple thing to correct and instructions were provided. no one should have lost time due to it. fwiw, my system has not been reinstalled since prior to Gregg KH beginning Tumbleweed announced in 2010 November, continuously updating. -- (paka)Patrick Shanahan Plainfield, Indiana, USA @ptilopteri http://en.opensuse.org openSUSE Community Member facebook/ptilopteri Registered Linux User #207535 @ http://linuxcounter.net Photos: http://wahoo.no-ip.org/piwigo paka @ IRCnet freenode -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
