Jack, there is no package called gnome.... At least not yet ;) According to suse the following packages make up the base of gnome: Geramik at-spi atk bug-buddy control-center2 eel eog epiphany epiphany-extensions esound file-roller gail gcalctool gconf2 gedit glib2 gnome-applets gnome-desktop gnome-filesystem gnome-games gnome-icon-theme gnome-keyring gnome-mag gnome-mime-data gnome-panel gnome-session gnome-speech gnome-system-monitor gnome-terminal gnome-themes gnome-vfs2 gnopernicus gok gstreamer gstreamer-plugins gstreamer-plugins-default gstreamer-plugins-excess gstreamer-plugins-extra gtk2 gtk2-engines gtk2-themes gtksourceview gucharmap libart_lgpl libbonobo libbonoboui libcroco libgda libglade2 libgnome libgnomecanvas libgnomecups libgnomedb libgnomeprint libgnomeprintui libgnomeui libgtkhtml libgtop librsvg libwnck libxklavier metacity mozilla nautilus nautilus-cd-burner nautilus-media orbit2 pango pkgconfig scrollkeeper shared-mime-info startup-notification vte zenity Have those installed with 'apt install <all the pkgs mentioned above>' (use cut and paste or any other neath trick). This is in total 67MB of data to be downloaded. After that you can continue to fine tune your gnome desktop. Please, let me know if the above pkgs are indeed sufficient to obtain gnome. It would also be interesting to know what other packages you installed to get gnome complete. -- Richard Bos Without a home the journey is endless
