[opensuse] What's the best approach for "submitting" patches?

I've just this afternoon spotted a problem in the spamd init script - it's easily fixed, and I could easily create a patch. I am mostly unfamiliar with building RPMs and the build service and such, so I tend towards just opening a bugreport and be done with it.
