I used to use procmail at my very start in linux, when I managed an AMPR.ORG server (Red Hat 7.3) which was running mostly through console. Nowadays I prefer graphical interfaces to do this kind of operations, especially in the specific case wherein I'm using a laptop. BTW thanks for your suggestion.
I use procmail because I do not want my filters to require that my mail reader runs. I save the mail in imap folders so I can read mail remotely. I still want to see the messages filtered. But I do not want to set up each mail reader to do so. Hence procmail. Do it once. Do it right. -- Roger Oberholtzer OPQ Systems / Ramböll RST Ramböll Sverige AB Krukmakargatan 21 P.O.
