$HOME/.kde4/share/config/kconf_updaterc hasn't been touched since 2010/07/24, presumably when I installed this box.
/home/per/.kde4/share/apps/kconf_update/log/update.log is about 490Mb, and last changed yesterday. It's full of this:
2010-08-19T09:23:34 Checking update-file '/usr/share/kde4/apps/kconf_update/kopete-pluginloader.upd' for new updates 2010-08-19T09:23:34 kopete-pluginloader.upd: Found new update 'kopete0.7/r1' 2010-08-19T09:23:34 kopete-pluginloader.upd: Running script 'kopete-pluginloader.pl' 2010-08-19T09:23:35 kopete-pluginloader.upd:
Bingo. I'm away boosting at Froscon today and this weekend so I can't fix this on the spot. Please report this as a bug assigned to me, include a representative section of the above update.log and, if it exists, $HOME/.kde4/share/config/kopeterc (with any possibly embedded (depending on kwallet usage) passwords removed, or mail it me privately). If kopeterc doesn't exist, note this.
Okay, see https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=633106
You should be able to work around temporarily by removing /usr/share/kde4/apps/kconf_update/kopete-pluginloader.upd as root, and if there is a kconf_update process running out of control, kill it.
The update process isn't running, presumably it died when the disk filled up. I have removed kopete-pluginloader.upd anyway. -- Per Jessen, Zürich (19.1°C) -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
