OK, after ISP problems and connection problems to the repository, apt seems to be on track. There is still a problem with synaptic. The command sux -c synaptic returns a "segmentation fault" error, with a fading window, while the command "synaptic", logged in as sux just prompts a fading window. Any ideas?

Not really. What do you mean by a fading window? Is it the latest version of synaptic? You could also try on the apt-list. Sorry i don't know the address but it's on the apt4rpm site. -- Franklin Maurer Using SuSE 8.1
