I have to vent my anger and frustration somewhere ..... okular really does not cut it for office work. For a whole hour now I've been trying to get it to print a PDF document with stamps on C5 envelopes, but without success. With Acrobat Reader this was no big deal, done in 5 minutes.
I still use acroread. I see no alternative for certain jobs :-( (with an apparmour profile to confine it) Incidentally, I test envelope printing using A4 paper cut to envelope size ;-)
With Okular, either I get nothing, something in the wrong format (wasted envelopes) or the job hangs in cups as "pending".
Can anyone explain what this "pending" status means? I've restarted cups once or twice, but every printjob we send ends up in "pending" status.
No, restarting cups has no effect, as jobs are not deleted. You need to, either in the web interface or via CLI, to delete those pending jobs. Try "lpq" or "lpq -a". - -- Cheers / Saludos, Carlos E.
