I wait your answer, in the meaning I try to change the configuration of the rc.config.......... Here's my section for an example: # # domain searchlist that should be used in /etc/resolv.conf # (e.g. "suse.de linux.de uni-stuttgart.de") # Attention! this has to be filled out, if you want to access a name server # SEARCHLIST="iliamna.gci.net spurr.gci.net" <-- These are the nameservers of my ISP. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ ^^^^^^^^^^^^^ # # space separated list of nameservers that should be used for /etc/resolv.conf # give a maximum of 3 IP numbers # (e.g. "192.168.116.11 192.168.7.7") # NAMESERVER="208.138.130.16 206.96.62.16" <-- These are the IP addresses of the nameservers of my ISP. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ ^^^^^^^^^^^^ These need defining on your system as well. I personally believe that YaST setups up your network quite easily, without manually editing the various files in /etc or /sbin. The only time I really go into those files is to see what settings are stored there. It helps me a little when I work with Caldera or Slackware to look at these files. I am also assuming that you've tried YaST and it didn't work for you.
