Again, I think my suggestion is less than ideal because there are two popular "competing" forums. I maintain some hope that they will combine again at some point and would encourage any efforts to that end, but from what I've read from their respective leadership, this seems unlikely.
This for me has hit the nail on the head.
First, it reinforces my view that we need our own web forum more than ever. Because the community forums are currently split, picking one as "official" I think would do more harm to than good.
And what better way to unify two parties than creating a third option that competes with them, we might end up with a forum.opensuse.org and the rest putting their differences aside and reunifying and competing with the "official".
