Hi,
I am printing to a Xerox N17 Postscript printer, connected to a Linux server and I have this weird problem: It seems that the printer sometimes doesn't know when the end of the print job was reached and it will not print the last page of the print job until it gives up waiting (it reaches the timeout period). This problem exist with some applications (Netscape, for example), but not all. Is there a way to fix this problem? BTW, I have no problem when I print to the HP printers via Samba.
just guessing: it might be that (comparing to old needle printers) the page is not "full" yet and the printer waits for more data. To eject the page, I used to send an formfeed character last. printcap can do this for you, there is sort of "sf" (surpress formfeed) to stop that behaviour, since the next thing / complaint you'll get from that is the famous "my printer sends an empty page after each job" issue. ;-) have a quick look into printcaps man page, those codes are explained close to the beginning...
