Hi All
I am trying to configure a suse 7.1 system for remote access via a modem / ppp & am having a few problems.
On connecting to the system I get a screen full of garbage in the ppp log (see below).
Welcome to SuSE Linux 7.bP|Pug#Password: Login incorrect
&F79x3&n6h]&}k^DR_cG N|/?7Os]># O'I$6sW[iL!T}3SUa"W xena login: k%1z]?~Aj8}x3x7RVTaM"B? r;wAhYhG&w7r{G"5 +|
I have set-up the user in the system as well as the pap-secrets / chap-secrets file. I am sure I am missing something simple in setting this up.
If you just put and asterick in the pap-secrets for the username, it will use the systems, which will allow their login password for dial-up to be the same as at a tty (though it does not log them in per se).
can anyone help with this?
It looks like it is either a bad phone line, or protocol mismatch. What system/OS is calling in? -- Joe & Sesil Morris New Tribes Mission Email Address: Joe_Morris@ntm.org Web Address: www.mydestiny.net/~joe_morris Registered Linux user 231871
