Well using Google to look up EQT is very helpful. Their website is reasonably informative about the company. You can find out for example that EQT established a new fund this year (2018) called EQT VIII.
For what it's worth -- I wasted some time trying to find out -- the "VIII" just means 8. It's EQT AB's fund number 8.
So no, SUSE isn't owned by EQT VIII -- it's owned by EQT, but the money came from EQT's fund № 8.
EQT is backed by the Wallenberg group:
Quite a powerful family in Sweden. They own lots of things. As well as large holdings in major banks.
Indeed. And they do have some foundations that support science projects. Our telescope had been built with their support 30 years ago, and also today our new science instruments often can be afforded only thanks to their grants. I've heard rumors Wallenberg foundation pays more research/science project subsidies than the Swedish Government.... -- Dr. Peter "Pit" Suetterlin http://www.astro.su.se/~pit Institute for Solar Physics Tel.: +34 922 405 590 (Spain) P.Suetterlin@royac.iac.es +46 8 5537 8559 (Sweden) Peter.Suetterlin@astro.su.se -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
