I wish I had a review of this HP Pavilion V7-2230sa before i was given it by the insurance company - however you dont get a lot of choice with them do you.. This laptop had some weird bios settings that just prevented the bios from finding the wireless. Nearly every distrobution I tried (opensuse included) reported broken bios issues that was with 11.2, but it was fixed for 11.3. Before this I had a Samsung R720 and to say the two have basically the same specs, 4gb ram, ati chipset, the R720 worked like a charm until I sat on it. Still not over keen on this HP but stuck with it now lol. If you try it - do let us know how you get on. Stuart On Wednesday 02 Feb 2011 22:26:35 Jesse L. Purdom wrote:

I found this post on opensuse-forum I think it relates to what your looking for - and general consideration is it should work out of the box.

Hi Stuart,
Thanks for the link. I had come across that posting while researching the laptop, as well as the review from LinLap. I was hoping to see if anyone else had any experience with the unit, especially any problems they ran into that I may want to take into consideration before I buy. I have to say though, that it sounds like a good laptop for Linux users. :-)
Jesse
