every 30 minutes, I have the following in my log:

a) what is the purpose of this, and b) can/should I stop it?
I'd like to stop it because it causes the disk to wake up far too often. I presume the smart check is skipped if the disk is sleeping, but writing to the log will keep it awake. -- Per Jessen, Zürich (8.2°C) http://www.dns24.ch/ - free DNS hosting, made in Switzerland. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
