Hi Per,
should not harm. I got the same message (on ppc) but it works.
OK, I just hadn't seen it before.
dmesg says: logips2pp: Detected unknown logitech mouse model 1 input: PS/2 Logitech Mouse on isa0060/serio1
Is it really a ps2 mouse? If it is: try a "cat /dev/psaux" or "cat /dev/input/mice" as root. It should produce some "noise" on your screen.
OK, that's worth trying. It really is a PS2 mouse, yes :-) - I guess I could swap to a serial instead, but let's see if I can get this one to work.
The mouse works fine in Compaq SmartStart,
What is this?
It's a Compaq boot-CD for configuring a server - as far as I can see, it's built on Windows95.
but not in e.g. sax2 or elsewhere. Any hints as to where to start troubleshooting this?
Take a look in /dev/input/ Theoretically you have to find the correct device, where your mouse events are reported. Insert this device in /etc/sysconfig/mouse or run sax2 with commandline option for the mouse device.
Thanks for all of this - at least I've got something to try out now. /Per Jessen, Zürich
