[opensuse] Remote Desktop Preferences loop

I'm running 11.4 and I use Remote Desktop Preferences to view one of my machine's console remotely. Not sure what happened, possibly last update, seems to have broken it. When I load the preferences gui, it keeps looping through "Checking the connectivity of this machine..." and I'm not able to view the desktop remotely. I googled a bit but didn't find much.
