SSH behind a Router

Hi: I installed a Linux box as a router. All right with that, but now I can't use shh to connect the machine on the "other side" Before the network split I use to connect to that machine via ssh. Know somebody why? It seems that ssh only accepts local subnet by default but I can't find where to change it. Thank you, Martin.
