If you're sure you use GRUB, then no, don't execute lilo :) -- James Ogley, Webmaster, Rubber Turnip james@rubberturnip.org.uk http://www.rubberturnip.org.uk Jabber: riggwelter@myjabber.net Using Free Software since 1994, running GNU/Linux (SuSE 9.0) GNOME updates for SuSE: http://www.usr-local-bin.org
Togan and James are right. The default boot loader with SuSE 8.1 is grub, and not lilo. Olaf when he put together the instructions, wanted to make sure that SuSe 7.3 and 8,0 people didn't forget to update lilo. This was just discussed on SuSE Serity list. http://lists.suse.com/archive/suse-security/2003-Dec/0076.html So, as Togan said forget it for your 8.1 machine.
