So my questions are: (1) Does the dhcp client on Suse work any different than on Red Hat 5.2 (dhcpcd)? Where are the configuration files for it? Or will Yast do it's configuration for me?
There have been often repeated complaints about ISC dhcp client and cable modems. A while back I posted an option for the conf file that supposedly fixes that. Not having a cable modem I can only go by what others on the DHCP mailing list say. From what I've seen if your ISP is using some funky Microsoft "feature" you might have problems.
