Any idea why firefox has stopped playing youtube video's

In my own experience the same thing happens with Iceape and Seamonkey on the Debian Etch and Ubuntu Hardy distributions as well as OpenSuSE. Doesn't always start to work again after the browser is closed down and re-started. AMD64 version but also someties on the 32-bit versions.
