-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA256 Hi, Following a comment here I have tried "laptop-mode". However, it is not tracking the AC / Batttery status: when I connect or disconnect the power cable, the utility doesn't always react to the changed status and I have to force it by restarting the daemon. The system does indeed know about the change: it is reflected in the power-manager applet, in gkrellm, and via acpi-listen in a terminal: # acpi_listen - --> change to battery battery BAT0 00000081 00000001 battery BAT0 00000080 00000001 ac_adapter ACAD 00000080 00000000 processor CPU0 00000081 00000000 processor CPU1 00000081 00000000 but the daemon has not reacted several minutes later - notice the "commit" interval in mounts: /dev/sda7 on / type reiserfs (rw,acl,user_xattr,commit=0) I reload the daemon, and then I get the change: minas-tirith:~ # /etc/init.d/laptop-mode stop Laptop Mode Tools 1.49 Laptop mode disabled, not active done minas-tirith:~ # /etc/init.d/laptop-mode start Laptop Mode Tools 1.49 Laptop mode enabled, active done minas-tirith:~ # mount | grep sda7 /dev/sda7 on / type reiserfs (rw,relatime,acl,user_xattr,commit=600) I reconnect the cable: - --> cable battery BAT0 00000081 00000001 battery BAT0 00000080 00000001 ac_adapter ACAD 00000080 00000001 processor CPU0 00000081 00000000 processor CPU1 00000081 00000000 battery BAT0 00000081 00000001 battery BAT0 00000080 00000001 but there is no reaction till I reload the daemon. minas-tirith:~ # mount | grep sda7 /dev/sda7 on / type reiserfs (rw,relatime,acl,user_xattr,commit=600) minas-tirith:~ # /etc/init.d/laptop-mode stop Laptop Mode Tools 1.49 Laptop mode disabled, not active done minas-tirith:~ # /etc/init.d/laptop-mode start Laptop Mode Tools 1.49 Laptop mode enabled, not active done minas-tirith:~ # mount | grep sda7 /dev/sda7 on / type reiserfs (rw,acl,user_xattr,commit=0) And no, reconfiguring the daemon to poll the battery does not work. - -- Cheers / Saludos, Carlos E.
