wrong. mp4 compress much more than the mpgts you have, but you can probably not do it on the box
And, they don't play (well) on several TV sets. To play them back on my STB, I have to "expand" them back. When I want to keep a movie I recorded on the, what do you call it, STB?, I copy it to an external disk, to free space on the STB (which in my case uses FAT or EXT2) I use two main methods: - via ftp from the STB to a computer. It is slow, 10Mb/s it seems. - disconnecting the disk from the STB and connecting it to the computer Once on the computer, I use ProjectX to trim the recordings. No recoding. On some, I use ffmpeg to remove black areas and recode, to smaller size. -- Cheers / Saludos, Carlos E. R. (from 13.1 x86_64 "Bottle" at Telcontar)
