Has anyone here encounted any problems with OpenLDAP2 on SuSE 8.2? I have configured it and have it running just fine w/o SSL support. I can query my directory locally with no problems at all. However, any client that tries to access it generates the following in /var/log/messages:
conn=2 fd=7 ACCEPT from IP=192.168.1.23:33241 (IP=:: 389) conn=0 op=0 BIND dn="" method=128 conn=0 op=0 RESULT tag=97 err=2 text=requested protocol version not allowed conn=0 op=1 UNBIND conn=0 fd=7 closed
If this is too vague, I'll gladly post my slapd.conf to help further.
Not really off topic from this but, LinuxJournal has just started a series covering LDAP. I'm using it here but don't understand it much. You might check the mag for information, just the basics were covered this month.
On a separate, but possibly related note, is there a Good Reason why SuSE seems to be becoming "SSL Linux"? I'm all for extra security/encryption when needed/desired, but I've already had to go back to a 8.1 binary of imapd because the 8.2 version seemed to be ssl-only (thanks to this list for that little tip!) and the SuSE-shipped version of SquirrelMail doesn't support SSL. :(
Anyways, sorry for the mini-rant, and thanks in advance for any help on my LDAP problem.
Cheers
