Just create a quake directory, cp the id1 dir into that, install whatever linux executables you are going to use (glquake, x11 quake etc) in the quake dir and that's pretty much it. You may need to symlink the id1 dir and the executables to your home dir as well. Then create a qw dir in the quake dir and install the linux qw client. That is pretty much it. If you are playing glquake, you'll need linux gl from the 3dfx website and Mesa (included with SuSE) installed. Compile the mesa source instead of installing the bins. Mark Wagnon wrote:
