I have found, that if a New repositories that held packages which also appeared in opensuse repository, neither the priority of the repository nor the version numbers of the package made any difference UNTIL I clicked that link at the top of yast to switch system packages to the new repository.
Which to me seems a bit redundant. If I set a higher priority then I expect it to be used over one with a lower priority. The odd thing is that when you press the 'switch' option, packages in that repo seem to get selected even if the repo has a lower priority. Which begs the question: do the priority settings really function anymore? They obviously are meant to interact with the 'switch' functionality. Is there a description of how they are meant to interact?
