Should a DVD burned from the on-line ISO image pass the Media Check function in YaST?
I think so
I have more and more writing problems with cd or dvd, maybe the quality is lowering...
Both drives and blank media are dropping rapidly in price. Sooner or later, quality will suffer. I have had some bad blank disks. When I burn a CD or DVD, I enable verify, so that I can tell if the disk was burned properly or not. So, when I create a SUSE CD or DVD from ISO, I 1) verify md5sum 2) verify on burn 3) verify in Yast Even then, I occasionally get a disk that passes the above and then goes bad later. Also a poor quality or out of spec drive will create disks that are not usable in other drives. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
