I run openSuSE 11.3.
I have installed kedtoys4, and then I recognized, that also a new NVIDIA driver was installed.
After the update I recognized, that my desktop looks like this:
http://www.urbakken.dk/desktop.jpg
This means, that all what was located in the panel before the update, now is spread all around the desktop.
What can I do, to get rid of that ?.
Run the following command (all one line, including the final&):
kquitapp plasma-desktop&& old ~/.kde4/share/config/plasma*&& plasma-desktop &

Many thanks Will. Here's what I got running the line from you:
kquitapp plasma-desktop && old ~/.kde4/share/config/plasma* && plasma-desktop & [1] 6307 dhcppc3:~ # <unknown program name>(6308)/: "Application plasma-desktop could not be found using service org.kde.plasma-desktop and path /MainApplication."
It didn't help? Was there no plasma-desktop process? Try it again. If that fails replace kquitapp with killall, and if that doesn't work, I don't know what is drawing your desktop - you'll have to give me more info.
