Thank you for the correction, sorry that I originally posted the wrong address. I have been using Pmmail for OS/2 for some time now and it is very nice, and sure would like having a version for Linux. As I posted earlier, the good people at Southsoft said that making a Linux version was on their priotity list. Here's part of my reply when asked about a Linux version: "that is very high on our list. we are booked up through 1998, but when we decide what we are going to be doing in 1999 ,we will give this serious thought as it is perhaps our biggest request. RIght now, I will just let you knwo that it will require tremendous amount of work (the port to windows took 14 months total, becasue we don't port, we rewrote it as a native product to not loose any of the speed that we have, to keep it lightwieght and to make sure we got all of the advantages of a windows app :) It will take a significant number of time, money and other resources that if we can allocate would be great! Yes, I contacted them also here is part of their reply: "Thank you for your continued interest in our products. We have given a great deal of thought to a Unix/Linux version of one of our editors. However, we do not currently have any definite plans for such a port. Hint: The more users that contact us about a Unix or Linux port, the more likely we would be to do one!!!! (As it is now, the vast majority of users seem to want a GUI_Windows_ editor.) Sincerely, Bobbi Mitchell SemWare Sales " Once again, it looks like they would produce a linux version for the asking, all we need is to have a few linux users request one. As quoted, the Windows users are not afraid to ask for new products, and the old "Squeaky wheel gets the greese"; may well apply in this scenerio! <A HREF="http://www.semware.com</A">http://www.semware.com</A> Anyone that wishes to help out by sending a nice request to either of these developers has my thanks in advance. I don't think Linux can have too many programs, even editors. thanks again, joe (jljr@paonline.com or jljr@ptdprolog.net) - To get out of this list, please send email to majordomo@suse.com with this text in its body: unsubscribe suse-linux-e
